BRE has a range of industry experts and built environment professionals, with the following key staff working within the BRE Centre for Resilience:
Dr Stephen Garvin:
Stephen is the Director for the BRE Centre for Resilience, with responsibility for the development of the Centre activities and ensuring that the research agenda meets the needs of industry and government. He has been involved in research and consultancy on flood resilience for the past 20 years. He was a UK management group member for the COST Action C22 on Urban Flood Management and was the coordinator of the EU FP7 Project SMARTeST. He has led the PFR Action Plan task group 4 on Standards, Certification and Skills.
Graeme is the Programme Director for the BRE Centre for Resilience, working across the BRE Group and industry to develop new content, products and services to support resilience within the built environment. He is a Full IEMA member and a Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv), and a former Young Leader within Scotland’s 2050 Climate Change group. Graeme’s background is in the performance of assets within the built environment.
Matt has worked with the Centre for Resilience team since March 2016 and has been involved with a number of key projects over this time. He is currently a task group lead for Task Group 3 of the Property Resilience Flood Roundtable including management and operation of the free flood guidance portal www.centre4resilience.org. He has an environmental degree with key focus around flood risk management and flood resilience and is currently a member of the Chartered Association of Building Engineers.
Partners and Collaboration:
BRE work with a number of cross sector partners from local and national government, the third sector, the UK construction industry, international partners and the financial services sector.
