BIM Certification for Individuals

Do you want to prove you're BIM competent?

BRE Global has developed a scheme for individuals that offers two pathways to certification which will give employers and customers the confidence that your services are going deliver what they need and expect.

These certification routes provide on-going, third-party assessment through a combination of audit and CPD requirements. Certification provides you the opportunity to meet – and continue to meet – the appropriate standards. It helps you to provide the highest level of service to your clients.

Individual certification demonstrates that skills learnt during the training courses you have undertaken are maintained. Scheme members will undertake training, pass an examination and must successfully complete an audit to show compliance with the scheme requirements.

Scheme members will have completed BRE Academy BIM Stage 1 [BIM Fundamentals, classroom or BIM Essentials, online] and Stage 2 [Project/Task Information Manager classroom or BIM: Information management, online] examinations or equivalent.

Scheme membership includes BRE Academy BIM Membership and its associated benefits.

The pathways to individual certification are as follows:

BIM Informed Professional

This certification is suitable for those wishing to demonstrate their knowledge of the BIM process. Certification audits require demonstration of the detailed knowledge and understanding gained through training and experience on Information Management.

This certification is appropriate for policy makers, advisors, educationalists and construction professionals who are implementing the BIM process.

BIM Certificated Practitioner (Project/Task Information Manager or PIM/TIM)

This certification is suitable for those wishing to demonstrate their application of the BIM process on live projects. Certification audits cover the detailed knowledge and understanding gained through training and experience. Project Information Manager (PIM) and Task Information Manager (TIM) are roles defined within PAS 1192-2:2013.

This certification is appropriate for project based construction professionals applying an implemented BIM process.
