Management systems and quality
In the 1950s it was recognised that manufacturing goods to a consistent and acceptable quality demanded proper control of the business systems. To achieve this, written procedures were introduced to help ensure that tasks were performed correctly and consistently every time, regardless of who carried them out.
Today, the International Standard ISO 9001 sets the framework of working practice that ensures the correct procedures and processes are in place and being followed. There is now also recognition of the need for similar controls on a company's impacts on the environment and health and safety This has led to the development of the Environmental Management standard (ISO 14001) and Health and Safety Management specification (BS OHSAS 18001).
Approved adherence to these standards can bring vital business benefits, including increased customer confidence, improved quality of out put, better cost control and reduced risks.
We offer third-party approval to all three standards, and can provide an integrated service to companies wanting approval to two or more of them:
Quality Systems (ISO 9001) - third-party approval to ISO 9001 of your quality management system demonstrates that it is operating properly, and can lead to improved processes, increased consumer confidence and reduced costs.
Environmental systems (ISO 14001) - approval to ISO 14001 is a clear demonstration of your company's environmental commitment and provides an assurance to the public, regulators and purchasers, of the green credentials of your policies and procedures.
Health and safety (BS OHSAS 18001) - certification to BS OHSAS 18001 helps to fully integrate health and safety into your company's policies and working practices, which in turn helps to identify risks, engage staff and continuously improve processes and systems. It signals to architects, clients, insurers and specifiers that your company takes its health and safety responsibilities seriously.
