Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

The BRE Group – BRE and BRE Global – is owned by the BRE Trust, a charitable organisation that includes representatives from all built environment sectors. The Group’s profits are passed to the Trust and used to promote its charitable objectives. This ownership structure enables us to be held as a national asset on behalf of the built environment industry and its clients. It also gives us responsibilities in respect of the way we work and behave with our:

Industry: our ownership structure enable us offer clients absolute impartiality and integrity in all of our services. In addition, each key client has a senior management contact to ensure maximum efficiency and co-ordination in all our dealings with them, and a direct route to the top should opportunities or challenges arise.

Community: we strive to enhance our community, particularly in the areas of:

Education: hosting free interactive school visits to our Watford Campus (particularly the Innovation Park), and organising science-based events at local schools.

Sustainability: setting challenging sustainability targets for our operations, and stimulating our neighbours’ interest in sustainability by, for example, offering free access to public Open Days as part of the National Heritage Open Days.

Charity: supporting charitable activities at both individual and corporate levels. For example, we regularly enter the UK Challenge to raise money for the Dame Kelly Holmes Trust.

Staff: our key resource is our staff. We work to keep them motivated and well informed of the Group’s activities. We hold family days at the Watford Innovation Park, produce a quarterly employee magazine (‘TeamTalk’) and distribute a range of informative in-house e-newsletters.
