This course is designed to equip you with the essential knowledge and understanding around Building Information Modelling (BIM); helping you to understand the BIM Level 2 process from a whole lifecycle perspective.  This course has been written specifically to cover the learning outcomes described within the BIM Task Group Learning Outcome Framework providing a mixture of strategic and technical content, suitable for all audiences.

You will learn how BIM Level 2 helps you to avoid common causes of poor information, helping to same time and money. At the end of this course you will be familiar with the many relevant Standards and resources, providing you with the tools to implement BIM into your work place.

This course will help you on your way to BIM certification:

Completing this course is the first step towards BIM Level 2 Individual Certification (This pathway can be viewed through the pdf under ‘Resources’, below.)

•You will receive 14 hours CPD certification.

This course has been developed and is delivered by BRE’s BIM experts, who have a wealth of knowledge and practical BIM experience.

BIM Essentials covers:

  • Why the BIM Level 2 process has been developed;

  • BIM definitions and terminology;

  • The key principles of BIM Level 2, which can be applied locally while still being consistent with the industry internationally;

  • Information Management Roles and responsibilities as defined within PAS 1192-2 and other Standards;

  • Relevant knowledge and capabilities to achieve internationally recognised good practice;

  • Awareness of international developments such as open BIM initiatives formed to facilitate interoperability;

  • An understanding of BIM from a whole life cycle perspective;

  • Knowledge of where to access relevant standards and resources; and

  • Key factors to consider when taking learning back into the workplace.
