BRE Academy's BIM Education Pathway
Building Information Modelling (BIM) training programme:
- BIM Fundamentals (stage 1)
- BIM Project Information Manager and Task Information Manager (stage 2)
These courses are developed and delivered by the Avanti Partnership and BRE. Notably, one partner is the author of BS1192:2007 and the co-author of PAS1192:2:2013. Attending these training courses will provide access to a unique wealth of knowledge and experience, which is key in implementing the processes and procedures on live projects.
The Project Information Management (PIM) and Task Information Management (TIM) roles are aimed at the delivery of the content of information against the Employers Information Requirement (EIR), using standards, methods and procedures that have been agreed across the design and construction teams.
The roles of the PIM and TIM are similar, except that the PIM is the single point of agreement for data across the project teams, while the TIM is responsible for the delivery of data within their own team. PIM and TIM are combined together in one course to enable the fundamentals of the two roles to be covered in detail.
Having successfully completed the training course and exam you will be eligible to join the BIM Certificated Practitioner Scheme as either a PIM or TIM, which will be based on your job role and your experience in the BIM process.
BIM Certificated Practitioner opportunity:
After successful completion of the BIM PIM/TIM examination you will have up to 12 months to apply to become a BIM Certificated Practitioner, giving you use of the BREGlobal certification badge of recognition. Attending this training course will make you eligible to become a BRE Academy BIM Member. The BRE Academy BIM Membership is a badge of recognition that highlights your level of knowledge and shows your commitment to realising the benefits of BIM.
As a member, you will join a group of growing and experienced individuals across a variety of areas within the built environment.
