Future Cities Research Programme

The BRE Trust Future Cities research programme was carried out between 2012 and 2015 with over 70 public and private partners. The collective value of these projects is over £30m. The research was carried out with involvement from 16 universities and 14 cities in the UK, European Union and Brazil. The thematic areas included health and wellbeing, infrastructure and energy; with projects often touching on more than one theme.

Future Cities UK/US Knowledge Exchange Mission

In 2014 BRE in partnership with Innovate UK, The Science & Innovation Network and the Knowledge Transfer Network organised a high level knowledge exchange mission to Chicago, San Francisco and New York.  This report captures the key learning outcomes and reflects on what UK government, businesses and researchers in the cities space can learn from the US experience and apply to their own projects.
