BRE Scotland
Based in East Kilbride, Glasgow, since 1949, BRE Scotland provides consultancy, research and testing services related to a range of important issues in the built environment, promoting the full range of BRE Services within Scotland. We have both a client and sector focussed approach to ensure that our expertise and experience is targeted in a way which maximises the impact and benefits that accrue to our clients or partner's.
Our region wide commitment to supporting the Scottish construction and development sectors is reaffirmed by our presence in both Central and Highland regions of Scotland.

- EPCs for Existing Buildings in Scotland - BRE Scheme
- Support sustainable development in the built environment by
- Offering guidance to the private and public sectors on delivering sustainable buildings by use of codes and checklists for developments
- Scheme manager for Approved Certifiers of Design for Section 6 Energy
- Conducting whole life costing assessments of buildings
- Minimising construction waste
- Recycling and the reuse of materials in construction applications
- Encouraging energy efficient practices
- Encourage the use of BREEAM and Ecohomes to improve the environmental standard of homes and commercial buildings together with providing more accessible local training for Ecohomes and BREEAM assessors
- Thermal performance calculations of buildings
- Introduce CLIP - the Construction Lean Improvement Program - to businesses so they can improve productivity and quality and reduce costs.
- Glass and glazing consultancy
- Undertake product certification and environmental profiling of products
- Deliver innovation in the timber industry
- Deliver innovation in housing, including the use of Modern Methods of Construction (MMC).
- Provide training in preparation for new legislative requirements such as EU Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD).
- Provide research on flood resistant materials and consultancy on flooding and flood risk management
- Manage the Scottish Construction Centre (SCC) website (SCOCON)
