The HPA formerly the National Radiological Protection Bard are advisors to the Government on health matters associated with radon, radon measurement and mapping of areas of the UK affected by radon. They offer a range of information services, including publications, free answer-phone for householders and a radon report service for people purchasing homes.

BGS have extensive knowledge of the geology associated with radon and have prepared maps of radon risk potential based upon geology. In addition a Radon Protective Measures (RPM) Site Report service is available to provide Geological Assessment in support of Building Regulations requirements contained in BRE Report BR211 ‘Radon: Protective measures for new dwellings (1999).
