Housing condition surveys and modelling
Having been responsible for large elements of the English House Survey since it began in 1967 (and more recently, similar surveys in Wales and Northern Ireland), we have extraordinary levels of data and experience of surveying and modelling housing. This allows us to offer wide ranging services to housing stock owners and managers, which include:Housing stock condition surveys
We will help you to identify and manage the issues, costs and risks associated with taking over or maintaining a large portfolio of existing buildings. This three-stage process involves:
Data capture - includes identifying and costing shortfalls against output specifications and ‘catch up' repairs needed, and assembling information on disabled access, health and safety, SAP and statutory requirements.
Reporting - includes clearly presenting the information needed for decision making, such as a prioritised list of essential and desirable actions, ongoing costs of repair and maintenance and a tool for comparing alternative remedial strategies.
Action - includes implementation specifications and documentation for procuring remedial works, and an audit trail from the survey through refurbishment to on-going maintenance.
Housing stock modelling
Expert statistical modelling can provide local authorities with information about key housing and energy issues, such as the condition of housing, HHSRS, the occurrence of vulnerable households and fuel poverty, and the most efficient and cost effective strategies for repair, maintenance and energy efficiency.
