BRE Global and RIBA Enterprises join forces

Last week BRE Global's training team signed a Memorandum of Understanding with RIBA Enterprises that will link their educational tools for industry.

The two companies have recognised there are significant synergies between the services offered by both organisations, they have identified a number of areas that will benefit from the

combined experience and skills of both businesses working together.

Delegates undertaking BRE Global's Code assessor training course are already benefiting from pre-course videos produced by RIBA Enterprises.

Carol Atkinson, CEO of BRE Global Training said. ‘RIBA's video library is a great resource and complements our training courses. By working together we can offer industry a wider breadth of educational and valued information.' She continues, ‘The UK construction industry is leading the way in sustainability and we want to arm them with the best tools we can.'

RIBA Enterprises and BRE Global will also explore ways in which the combined experience and skills of both businesses can be used to develop, market and deliver services for

refurbishment focussing on the 'NBS Scheduler' and 'BREEAM for Refurbishment'.

Notes for Editors

1 BREEAM is the leading and most widely used environmental assessment method for buildings around the world, with almost 200,000 buildings certified and just over a million buildings in total registered under the scheme. It sets the standard for best practice in sustainable design and has become the de-facto measure used to describe a building's environmental performance. Credits are awarded in nine categories according to performance. These credits are then added together to produce a single overall score on a scale of Pass, Good, Very Good, Excellent and Outstanding which is also reflected in a star rating from 1 to 5 stars. www.breeam.org.

2 BRE Global Limited (incorporating LPCB & BREEAM) is an independent third party approvals body offering certification of fire, security and sustainability products and services to an international market. BRE Globals mission is to ‘Protect People, Property and the Planet' and is a trading subsidiary of the BRE Trust, the registered research and education charity which owns the BRE Group.
