INSITE is the new OFFSITE

BRE is pleased to announce the fourth in its series of OFFSITE events. The show has been re-branded as INSITE with a broader mission to raise awareness of the latest developments in design, technology, materials and build techniques that are contributing to the UK's sustainable future.

BRE Director, Jaya Skandamoorthy explains 'the OFFSITE events have been introducing new developments and innovations to the construction industry since 2003, but with the rapid pace of change in the industry, the event itself is changing – new issues, new buildings, even a new name – INSITE09, Constructing the Future.’

Combining a full scale building exhibition, a topical conference programme and an interactive indoor demonstration, INSITE09 takes place at BRE from 1- 4 June 2009. Highlights include the launch of the next development of the BRE Innovation Park which includes:
  • the unveiling of the ‘Natural House’, sponsored by the Prince’s Foundation, a sustainable home built from natural materials to the latest sustainability standards
  • the launch of the ‘Hemp House’, sponsored by the National Non-Food Crops Centre (NNFCC), which will demonstrate the benefits of renewable fuels and materials
  • a Health Centre of the future by Re-Thinking that will give a glimpse of the fast approaching changes in health delivery
  • the winning community landscape design for the park which will be the result of a competition being jointly run by the British Homes Awards and the Landscape Institute.
Show sponsors from 2007, DuPont and the Energy Saving Trust have confirmed their commitment to the event for 2009.   Jay MacDonald of DuPont says ’Continuing innovation is the key to surviving the challenging economic times ahead  - we are delighted to take part in INSITE where we’ll be showcasing our latest range of innovative construction products’
