'The House that Kevin Built' comes to BRE Innovation Park

'The House That Kevin Built', which is being constructed by Kevin McCloud and team at the Grand Designs Live London exhibition this week will be re-constructed on the BRE Innovation Park after the exhibition closes.

The house, which is being built over a six day period live on TV, uses cutting edge building innovations all underpinned by green principles including

• Modcell - a prefabricated straw bale and hemp panel system
• FACIT roof and wall system
• solar roof tiles
• an eco-kitchen
• rainwater harvesting system
• rammed earth wall

BRE Innovation Park Director, Jaya Skandamoorthy welcomes the house saying 'It'll be a very interesting addition to the Park bringing a mix of modern design with traditional materials which haven't been used in any of the other buildings we have. It's bound to stimulate a lot of food for thought with visitors.'
