BRE and National Women in Engineering Day

Marking the importance of National Women in Engineering Day,  BRE Chief Executive Dr Peter Bonfield will take part in an Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining Conference this afternoon and speak about the challenges and opportunities employers face in  proactively encouraging diversity in the workplace.

Part of his presentation includes a video interview with BRE structural engineer BRE Amaia Harries who shares her thoughts on the importance of women in engineering and the value that engineering brings to society.

Dr Bonfield will encourage women working in the built environment to engage with the BRE Women’ s Network, a group created by BREEAM Communities lead Helen Pineo in 2012 with the aim of inspiring and supporting women working in the built environment and to promote strength in diversity.
