Healthcare in Focus: Building Sustainable Development - This event has already finished

21 May 2014
St Barts Hospital, London

The one day conference is a partnership between BRE and Healthcare Estates, supported by and in conjunction with  Bart’s Health NHS Trust

Details :

Building Sustainable Development’addresses the key issues raised by the new NHS SustainableDevelopment Strategy launched in January 2014. This sets objectives for reducing carbon and delivering better health outcomes through wider engagement with social care and community.

This conference sets out what the strategy means for NHS Estate managers focusing  on the need to engage with social care housing and decarbonising the existing estate. Expert speakers will demonstrate how in partnership with local authorities poor housing related hospital admissions can be reduced. Opportunities for decarbonising the estate will focus on lighting and photovoltaics and cover getting the most from LED lighting, its control and a recipe for success for photovoltaic installations.

We will also launch the new health specific ‘BREEAM In-Use’ scheme to assist with environmental asset management of the existing health estate.
