Achieving airtightness - designing tight and building right - This event has already finished

25 January 2006 - Radisson Marlborough, London

Details :

BRE will be hosting a half-day training seminar that looks at the upcoming revisions to the airtightness regulations and shows architects and contractors what they need to do to comply with these when they come into force later this year.

Sessions will be run by BRE's airtightness specialists, who provide airtightness consultancy and testing services for architects and contractors. BRE is a founder member of ATTMA, the Air Tightness Testing and Measurement Association.

The seminar will show delegates what steps they need to take to design and construct an airtight building that will pass the airtightness test first time. The speakers will explain the background to the new regulations; the principles of creating an airtight envelope; and what an airtightness test entails. Delegates will also receive a free copy of Airtightness in commercial and public buildings (retail value £50).

Intended audience :

This seminar will guide delegates through what has to be done and why:

  • Architects: how to design for airtightness; common problem areas
  • Contractors: constructing an airtight building envelope; good workmanship; construction techniques
