Renewables for Building Designers
2 day course
Why attend?
- The course provides a broad understanding of renewables technology
- Key information is presented on how best to use renewable energy technologieseffectively and economically
- Overiew of relevant planning issues and government incentive schemes.
- Explores how renewable technologies can be incorporated into a buildings design, discussing the impact on building structure and building services design
- Why BRE? View the BRE Training video
Renewable energy can play a key role in reducing carbon emissions from the built environment, and is required for most new build projects to achieve Building Regulations and Planning requirements. Renewables are becoming increasingly popular as a retrofit option into existing buildings to take advantage of the introduction of the Feed In Tariffs (FITs) and the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI).
Incorporating renewable energy and renewables technologies into buildings provides both many opportunities and challenges for the design team. This course provides key advice and guidance for Building Professionals to ensure their buildings are practical, implementable and maximise use of renewable energy inputs.
