In October 2010, revisions to Part L will introduce an additional 25% reduction of CO2 emissions for dwellings, this is a 40% improvement over the 2002 standards. 

BRE in partnership with The Energy Saving Trust present a series of half-day events which will provide an overview of the revised approved documents reflecting the recent legislative changes to Part L and Part F, which will come into force on 1 October 2010.

The half-day training course will provide a detailed review of the regulatory changes and how these revisions will affect the design, specification and construction of new dwellings.

  • Part L - Discover how amendments to Part L and the approved document Part L1A will affect design, construction and compliance of new housing.
  • Part F - Review how the revisions will affect ventilation strategies and the impact on air quality and occupant comfort.
  • Learn about the proposed amendments to the Code for Sustainable Homes due later this year.
  • Receive free SAP2009 design feasibility assessment software and get practical experience in using SAP2009.

Intended audience :

These events have been designed to meet the needs of developers, architects, housing associations in England and Wales, Code for Sustainable Homes Assessors, On-Construction Domestic Energy Assessors.


The content is suitable for all housing professionals, but prior knowledge of Part L and SAP is recommended.

Delegate numbers are strictly limited to 35 per event to allow interactive sessions and discussion on the changes to Part L1A and SAP2009 with the presenters.


Attendance at the event will count as 3 hours towards Continuing Professional Development.
