Assessing the sustainability of existing buildings - This event has already finished

A series of free events designed to support and enable the sustainable refurbishment of existing buildings in the East Midlands.  Funded by East Midlands Development Agency and delivered by BRE and EC Harris.  This series is also working in conjunction with the Sustainable Construction iNet. The iNet helps small to medium sized businesses to improve their business performance and profitability through innovating. We can offer expertise, networking opportunities and funding to help you.

This breakfast event will provide attendees with an understanding of the drivers to deliver cost reductions, meet corporate targets, and comply with regulation such as the Carbon Reduction Commitment. The event will highlight:

  • Examples of sustainable assessment tools for existing buildings
  • How these can support existing environmental systems (e.g. ISO 14001)
  • Defining the scope of sustainability assessment
  • Case study of a BRE assessment methodology
  • Quick wins (prioritising improvement measures and their costs)
