Small Scale/Building Integrated Wind Seminar

28 April 2005 - BRE Watford

Details :

The UK's renewable energy target for 2010 will mostly be met through large scale renewable energy projects. However, small scale installations will also have an important role to play. Renewable energy is an indispensable factor in developing sustainable communities and small-scale production is an effective way for a community to produce its own electricity.

Over the last few years we have seen many developments in the technology of small-scale wind turbines and the number in use has risen dramatically as they have become more efficient and cost effective. Building-integrated wind systems are also being researched and show great potential for sustainable developments with prototypes currently being developed. Sustainable community projects could soon have feasible options to generate their electricity through small-scale or building integrated wind.

This event will be hosted by BRE in Garston in partnership with the British Wind Energy Association (BWEA). This one-day conference/seminar will allow the wide range of companies working in small-scale wind/building integrated wind to come together at the event, whose audience is mainly aimed at building design professionals. However, it is also open to anyone who would like to know more about small-scale wind power. Speakers from BWEA, DTI, BRE, the OU, and others will give presentations on a range of issues including the following:

·        Market Overview

·        Case study Presentations

·        Grid Connection Issues

·        DTI plans

·        Planning Issues

Delegates will gain knowledge of what technologies are available, and how they can be incorporated into building developments. The cost of attending as a delegate will be £115 (including VAT), or £95 (including VAT) for BWEA members, and lunch will be provided for all delegates. The conference will be from 10am until 4.30pm.

You can register on-line or download the attached flyer and return to the address given.

The exhibiting cost for a 3m x 2m internal space will be £440 (including VAT), or FREE if you also exhibit at resource05 - our low carbon technology showcase being held 13th to 15th September 2005.
