National Green Specification

Come to our seminar on 30 January 2006 at BRE to hear about of the outcomes of the National Green Specification project and its plans for future continuing work in the area of sustainable construction. New fire safety law

New fire safety legislation coming into effect in England and Wales in October 2006 will impact on employers and virtually all of those responsible for non-domestic premises – owners, occupiers and managers. Details of forthcoming fire risk assessor training courses from BRE are available at www.bre.co.uk/firerisk.

SAFER06

A one-day conference (SAFER06) on 28 February in Watford will explain the implications of new fire legislation, together with the requirements of Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmosphere Regulations (DSEAR) and the actions required to comply. New airtightness requirements

From April all non-domestic buildings over 500m2 must be pressure tested to demonstrate compliance with the new airtightness standard in Part L of the Building Regulations. Compliance with the requirements will be explained by BRE airtightness specialists at a half-day seminar for architects and contractors on 25 January in London. more, and book online here...

New Part L Regulations

A one-day CPD workshop, on 15 February in Manchester and 28 February in Birmingham, for architects, engineers contractors, building control officers, and building owners and managers, will cover key changes to Part L, design issues, commissioning, advice on new procedures and a demonstration of SBEM – the national calculation methodology software. BREEAM Assessor Training

BREEAM is regarded by the UK's construction and property sectors as the measure of best practice in environmental design and management. A new DTI-funded project called BE AWARE – Built Environment Action on Waste Awareness and Resource Efficiency – will be launched at the Building Centre, London on 30 January.
