BRE Group at Ecobuild 2012

The BRE Group is proud once again to be lead supporter of Ecobuild 2012, the world’s biggest event for sustainable design, construction and the built environment, London ExCel, 20-22 March 2012.

Last year's Ecobuild turned out to be the biggest yet, with more than 42,000 visitors attending.  Record attendance is expected in 2012.

Among the new and surprising events that are always a feature at Ecobuild will be the BRE Bites, a series of ten-minute ‘tasters' on a range of topics that will be provided daily on our stand no S1430.

We will also be celebrating the 10th anniversary of the BRE Trust with a short presentation and drinks reception on our stand at 1pm on Tuesday 20th March.  Come along and hear about the important work of the Trust and its new thematic research programme on Future Cities.

On Wednesday 21st March we will launch our new Site Sustainability Manager scheme and supporting training course.  This exciting new scheme will provide a mechanism to ensure that a construction site can be managed in an environmentally friendly manner.

BREEAM Awards 2012

The BREEAM Awards recognise the highest scoring buildings under BREEAM and for the third year running we will host the awards at Ecobuild.  These will take place at 5pm in the Platinum Suite in Excel on Tuesday 20th march. 

Independently assessed, and representing genuinely sustainable buildings, the categories for the 2012 Awards will include the best buildings in the office, education, health and residential sectors, as well as more specialist buildings including prisons, courts, datacentres, multi-residential buildings and leisure centres.

There will also be a number of international awards, reflecting BREEAM's growth outside the UK, and special awards for the management of existing buildings (BREEAM In-Use) and the Government sector.
